I'd recommend covering these with electrical tape or even some cardboard to prevent accidental contact with the metal. ![]() Your replacement capacitors seem to have an exposed metal surface along the top edge. The plastic or cardboard insulation that forms the outer jacket of the capacitor case prevents a person from getting an electric shock if they touch it and the chassis at the same time. ![]() The black capacitor that mounts to the phenolic wafer (instead of directly to the chassis) is done that way because the negative terminal is not at ground potential.
